Sound Attenuated Generator Enclosure Levels Explained

Generator manufactures use various concepts when designing sound-attenuating enclosures in order to reduce generator set noise. Examples of these concepts include an acoustic barrier, acoustic insulation, isolation mounts, cooling air attenuation, exhaust muffler, and an enclosure location. Once an enclosure is chosen, testing is completed to determine the generator's total noise output.
